How ClearUpdate handles account, product, and update workflow data

2026/05/20

Introduction

ClearUpdate helps individuals prepare copy-ready workplace updates, draft follow-up wording, and keep lightweight project context. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how you can contact us about your data.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following information when you use ClearUpdate:

  • Account information: name, email address, login method, account settings, and authentication records.
  • ClearUpdate workspace content: project names, people, today items, generated update or follow-up drafts, pasted replies, confirmed facts, blockers, and update drafts.
  • Billing and workflow access records: plan, checkout, invoice, fair-use status, feature activity, and payment status needed to operate paid features.
  • Technical data: device, browser, IP address, request logs, error logs, approximate locale, and security signals.
  • Support and contact data: messages you send through contact, support, or product feedback channels.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • provide, secure, and improve ClearUpdate;
  • authenticate users and protect accounts;
  • extract people and items from Quick add text, draft follow-up wording when requested, and prepare copy-ready updates from item status;
  • process billing, workflow access, and payment-related recovery flows;
  • respond to support, contact, and product feedback messages;
  • detect abuse, troubleshoot errors, and maintain service reliability;
  • send transactional emails such as verification, password reset, and account notifications.

Provider Processing

ClearUpdate may send the content you choose to process to configured AI providers when Quick add parsing or follow-up draft wording uses AI. These features have fallback paths when AI is unavailable. You should avoid entering secrets, credentials, or highly sensitive personal information into ClearUpdate unless that information is necessary for your workflow.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party providers for authentication, email, payment processing, storage, analytics, notifications, and selected provider-backed workflow features. These providers may process information only as needed to operate ClearUpdate and the selected feature.

Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide ClearUpdate, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as ClearUpdate changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
